Writing & posture

Postby sph33r » Thu Jan 14, 2010 12:02 pm

I keep reading about proper posture and how important it is for writing but I have a serious issue with this. I can't write without being hunched over the paper. I don't know why, I think it might be my fascination with watching the nib on the paper. But I also find that I write more sloppy when I sit up, as if my "good" penmanship is only obtainable when I'm down by the paper with my eyes.

Anyone else have this problem or do you all sit straight as a board and draft flowly letters by moving your arms and not your wrists? :D

Hunched over and write with my wrists and fingers. Exactly what you're not supposed to do, so I hear.

I have a writing posture like a boiled shrimp. And let's not even talk about the part that intersects with the chair.

I think comfort is more important than posture. I am not productive if I am uncomfortable. Hunched over as far as my gut allows me is my posture too.
